Questions

Common questions

Can I use TraceVeil to screen individual residential tenants?

No. TraceVeil is not a consumer reporting agency. It must not be used to screen individuals for housing, or for employment, credit or insurance. It's built for researching businesses and the people publicly associated with them.

What does “other registry matches” mean?

When a search finds several entities with similar names, TraceVeil resolves the best match and also lists the others with their scores, so you can see predecessors, affiliates and look-alikes without re-running searches.

How fresh is the registry data?

Registry data is fetched live from the state source (or a licensed registry-data provider for some states) when you run the lookup, and a snapshot of what was returned is kept with the report.

Which states are covered?

TraceVeil connects directly to 20 state business registries and covers 6 more through a licensed registry-data provider. The search form lists every supported state.
